Our Client: Ritchie Bros. is the world's largest auctioneer of heavy equipment, trucks, and other assets; and are experts in managing auctions on a global scale and have been helping people around the world buy and sell confidently since 1958. In 2018, Ritchie Bros. sold $4.96 billion of used equipment and managed more than 2,200 employees and 40 permanent auction sites worldwide. The company also maintains two online markets to allow clients to purchase and bid on used equipment digitally. In 2019, Ritchie Bros. acquired an extensive database containing a vast amount of raw data gathered about companies in the industrial sector. These data could be a critical component of the Ritchie Bros. sales strategy. After the acquisition, this data had to be effectively and intelligently processed and enriched to provide helpful information for both the Ritchie Bros. auctioneering and data services operations.

Our Work: Ritchie Bros. asked the Slingr team to create an automated system for processing a large volume of data. The objective was to retrieve useful contact information related to the companies listed in Ritchie Bros.’s proprietary database. We collected company data, enriched contact information with 3rd party data services, and ensured data integrity before sharing the records with other operations within the company. To achieve this, we created endpoints to integrate with different platform APIs (Seamless, RocketReach, ZoomInfo.) Finally, integration with Salesforce to transfer the updated records completed the workflow and put Ritchie Bros. in full control of their robust new dataset.
